EG Hano alternative for clinics: booking, journals and payments
Compare EG Hano and Calendia on price, online booking, journals, cash register and HELFO settlement, and see when each is the better fit for your clinic.
Looking for an EG Hano alternative? Hano is no longer a salon system: hano.no now leads to EG's journal system for clinics, built for foot therapists, naprapaths, osteopaths, cosmetic nurses, massage therapists and acupuncturists. It is a serious product with HELFO and Helsenett integration. Calendia is a booking and operations platform with journals, consent forms and a cash register, but without HELFO settlement and Helsenett. Which one fits depends mostly on whether your patients get a HELFO refund.
What does EG Hano cost?
According to EG's official price page (checked October 2026), prices are in NOK per user per month:
- Basis, NOK 429: calendar, patient register, journal, cash register system and patient messaging.
- Standard, NOK 539: adds online booking, accounting integration and ExorLive.
- Standard+, NOK 649: adds Eniro lookup and insurance patients.
- Total, NOK 979: adds HELFO settlement and Helsenett.
- SMS costs NOK 1.25 each. There is no setup fee, and EG states that there is no binding period. The price page does not say whether the prices include VAT.
Online booking requires Standard, so a solo practitioner who wants patients to book online pays at least NOK 539 per month plus SMS. There is no marketplace and no commission.
What does Calendia cost?
Calendia has two billing models, and you choose one:
- Per bookable employee: a fixed monthly price for each person who takes bookings. Staff who never take bookings are free.
- Per completed booking: a small fee per completed appointment. Cancellations and no-shows are not charged.
Online booking, journals, deposits and the cash register are included in both models, so there is no tier to climb to get online booking. A few extras, such as BankID, cost extra. There is no commission, no setup fee and no binding period. See current prices on the pricing page, where a calculator compares both models. Prices are shown excluding VAT.

When is EG Hano the better choice?
- Your patients are refunded through HELFO and you want electronic settlement handled inside the journal system. Calendia does not offer this.
- You need Helsenett connectivity for secure communication with other health providers.
- You want a system built purely around the clinical journal, from a vendor focused on Norwegian health care.
- You prefer PowerOffice for accounting.
When is Calendia the better choice?
- Your clients pay privately, so HELFO settlement is not something you would use.
- You want online booking, deposits and no-show fees without moving up a price tier. Calendia also has waiting lists, gift cards, loyalty and memberships.
- You are a solo practitioner or small team and want pricing that follows bookings or bookable staff rather than a fixed plan per user.
- You run a mix of treatments and want one system for calendar, journals, consent forms, till, marketing campaigns and a staff mobile app. BankID login and signing is available as an add-on in Norway.
