Huubro alternative for aesthetic clinics: journal and booking

Compare Huubro and Calendia for aesthetic clinics: price, journals, responsible-doctor approval, online booking, binding period and cash register.

Looking for a Huubro alternative? Huubro is not a salon system. It is a Norwegian journal system for aesthetic practitioners, developed by Norwegian doctors and nurses, with modules for journaling, appointment booking and quality routines. This comparison is therefore for cosmetic nurses, aesthetic clinics and responsible doctors. Calendia is a broader booking and operations platform that can also handle approval by a responsible doctor. Huubro is built specifically for aesthetic medicine, and that is a real strength. The biggest practical difference is the contract: Huubro has a one-year binding period that renews automatically, while Calendia runs month to month.

What does Huubro cost?

According to huubro.no/priser (checked October 2026), in NOK per month. The page does not state whether VAT is included:

  • Per user: Huubro Basis NOK 770 (journal, patient and doctor dialogue, consent forms and self-declarations). The Timebooking add-on is NOK 330.
  • Per clinic: Basis NOK 1,850, Timebooking NOK 599.
  • SMS costs NOK 2.40 each on every package.

Online booking is therefore an add-on. One user with booking pays NOK 1,100 per month plus SMS. With more users the clinic price gets cheaper: from three users, the flat price costs less than the per-user price.

All packages have a 12-month binding period that renews one year at a time, with written notice at least three months before the next period. We found no self-serve trial: you sign up through a contact form and a signed contract, and pay by automatic company-card charge. Responsible doctors who only approve do not pay a subscription. Huubro has its own revenue-share model for approving doctors, see huubro.no for details.

What does Calendia cost?

Calendia has two billing models, and you choose one:

  • Per bookable employee: a fixed monthly price for each person who takes bookings. Staff who never take bookings are free.
  • Per completed booking: a small fee per completed appointment. Cancellations and no-shows are not charged.

Online booking, journals and forms are included in both models, with no separate booking add-on. BankID is an optional add-on. There is no commission, no setup fee and no binding period: you pay month to month. See current prices on the pricing page, where a calculator compares both models. Prices are shown excluding VAT. The free trial has every feature and needs no card.

When is Huubro the better choice?

  • You only need a journal and approval tool built specifically for aesthetic medicine by a Norwegian clinical team.
  • You value the mobile patient app and the check-in with decision support that flags medical issues.
  • You prefer a flat clinic price when many users share the system.
  • Huubro's model for approving doctors fits how you work.

When is Calendia the better choice?

  • You want booking, deposits, reminders and journals in one system rather than booking as a separate add-on.
  • You need a cash register with receipts and a daily Z report, plus gift cards, loyalty and accounting integrations such as Fiken, Tripletex or DNB Regnskap.
  • You want to try first without a card and avoid a binding period.
  • The responsible doctor should approve forms without broader access. External approvers get only an approvals workspace and cannot browse the journal.

How approval works in Calendia: a form can be set to require approval. Assigned approvers review the answers, approve or decline, record a medical answer and a message to the customer, or open a secure dialogue with the customer before deciding. Approvers are notified by email and SMS, and you can nudge them. Contraindication answers are flagged. Approvals also work in the mobile app, which has an approver-only mode. You can require electronic ID (the BankID add-on) to open and sign forms. Read more about forms and consent.
